Theme Verse & Motto
Our Theme Verse:
Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Prov. 31:30)
This is one of the concluding verses of the passage referenced in our name, and it aptly summarizes the superior value of a right relationship to the Lord over the superficial and fleeting things this world promotes for women. Our prayer is that having anchored their identities and purposes firmly in Christ, our students will have the courage and conviction to pursue the spiritual and eternal over the physical and temporal, knowing that such transformed lives will shine the light of the gospel to a world that is lost and perishing.
Our Motto:
“OTHERS OVER SELF. CHRIST OVER ALL.”
Though simple and concise, this motto draws from numerous passages of Scripture (Rom 11:36; Col 1:15-20; 1 Tim 6:13-16; Mt 22:37-40; Jn 15:12-14; Rom 12:9-10; Eph 5:1-2; Phil 2:3-5; 1 Pet 1:22-23; 1 Jn 3:16-18) that establish the supremacy of Christ, as well as His call for believers to submit to Him in all things and follow His example of self-sacrificial love. At Academy31, we desire to exalt Christ in everything we do, most of all through the way we love and serve others: from humility, in biblical truth, and with gladness of heart.
